SLEEP YAY!!!

This is Jasper sleeping this afternoon. I tried to move him but it only lasted about 3 minutes of him not sleeping with me in front of the Boppy pillow. He just looked so sweet!

I was so excited to wake up this morning a realize that Jasper slept 5 hours straight last night. It was so nice to realize that he may be able to do this. I am really hoping he does this more often. He has only done this one other time but maybe this will continue. I would really be glad for just 3 hours!

Today I went to the Dr for my check-up and everything was good. While we were at the hospital, we went up to Labor and Delivery and saw everyone and then we went to the Nursery to see all of those nurses. We also brought them some cookies and I hope they liked them. He did so well while we were at the hospital and I only wish that this would continue while Jeremy is gone.

Thank goodness for my mom too. She took off work today to help me. She came over here early this morning so that I could take a shower and get ready. They were so cute sleeping on the couch while I got ready.

Please keep Jeremy's Nanny is your prayers. She fell down her stairs today and they think she might have broken a vertebrae in her back.

1 month check-up

Today we went to the Dr for Jasper's 1 month check up. We did it a little early so that Jeremy would be here for it. So apparently the weight the nurse gave us last was wrong. He weighed in at 8 lbs and 10 oz today. The Dr was not worried about anything but she suggested that we start him on some vitamins since he is exclusively breastfed and does not get any iron. He got his first dose today. He did not fuss but he did spit a little out. I would have too because it did not smell like it would taste very good.

I am so excited about this weekend. Jasper has a little tiger costume and we are going to go over to my Parent's house and have our first Halloween.

How we spend our days...

I am completely out of touch on what is going on outside our home besides what I see on TV. I am enjoying having a husband who takes wonderful care of me and Jasper. It is kind of hard to get out when Jasper eats every 1.5-2 hours. I will be really excited when his feedings start to spread out.

I have been catching up on my sleep since Jasper and I nap together. I am putting up a picture of Jasper sleeping. He went from sleeping on my chest to my lap. He just wiggles down into the spot that he is comfortable in.

Growing so much

I do not have any new pics to put up as of right now because my camera battery died and I just charged it up on Friday. I promise I will put more up soon.

Thursday we went to the DR and Jasper has grown so much. Thursday was his 2 week check-up. At 1 week, his weight was 8lbs 7 oz. When we went on Thursday, his weight was 9 lbs 9 oz! He gained about 18 oz in a week. I know he had lost a pound after he was born but I did not think he would make it up that quick. I am glad he growing but my goodness. He is already growing so fast that I can not believe it.

Jasper had another round of visitors this weekend. Josh and Jessica came on Friday and so did his Meme, Pops (Jeremy's Parents), Papaw and Memaw (Jeremy's Grandparents), and Suzanne (Jeremy's sister). On Saturday Jeremy's aunt Deb, cousin Misty and her two kids came. On Sunday, Beth and her sister Whitney came by. We have had another busy weekend.

Jeremy wanted to make sure that I put that he was being a good Daddy and he is. He is not only being a GREAT Daddy but also an amazing husband. I do not know how people do this without the help of their husbands. I am so blessed to have two amazing boys in my life!!!

I'm Lovin' it

The new life I have entered into is wonderful. We have been blessed with such a wonderful little boy. He only fusses when something is wrong such as a dirty diaper or hungry. I just hope he keeps it up for a while.

The most amazing thing is watching Jeremy hold him and help out. He does everything and more. Since I had to have a c-section, I have needed more help doing some things and he has continued helping so much. I actually had to beg to do dishes. I never thought doing dishes would make me feel so accomplished.

Today has been the first day we have not had visitors and it was great. Even though I have been SO THANKFUL to have so much help and I am glad we have had friends come over to visit, it was nice not to have anyone over. I feel the need to entertain when people are over or at least show my face so I sometimes have done more than I should.

I am feeling much better now and I am able to do more and more things everyday. I hate not being able to do things around the house. I am by myself so much that I am used to taking care of things and not being able to has drove me crazy.

Bilirubin=blah

Our poor baby had a crazy entrance and has decided to keep up the excitement. His bilirubin levels have been dropping so we have had to put up a UV light in his room and he has to lay under it as much as he can. I can not wait until all this is over. I am hoping for a good report tomorrow when we go back. I also get my staples removed tomorrow and I am hoping it will be easier to move around and not drive me so crazy.

Jasper is growing stronger day by day and of course I think he is getting more precious everyday. The best thing is watching his smile. I think that he may even have dimples! We will have to see!

Jasper Stephen 10.01.09

Our beautiful boy arrived on October 1, 2009 at 4:11 PM. He had a fun arrival and lasted through 29 hours of labor until they ruled it failure to progress. The main reason I was in labor so long was because I am one of the few whose water broke before they went into labor.

By the time they decided that I was not progressing I was so ready to have him that I did not even want to listen to what the Dr had to say. I was just SO ready to meet him. We all were still thinking that he was trying to wait for his Dad to get there but I guess I could not wait any more.

Jeremy always makes fun of me because I never cry at important events but I assured him that I did cry when I heard Jasper cry for the first time. The anesthesiologist had to wipe my glasses off.

Our Jasper had to spend his first couple of days in the NICU, which was not a fun experience but we LOVED all of his nurses. They were great! He could not keep his oxygen levels up because he he took too big of a breath at first and made a little hole in the sack around his lungs (that is the easiest way to explain). He luckily got to come home on the same day as me which made me so happy because I was tried of sleeping in a hospital bed.

Today has been a great first full day at home. We have taken naps, had lots of feedings, and had our first bath! He is more beautiful everyday.
